Five Nights At Freddy's feature image

Jason Blum shares a picture from the set to prove that the filming of Five Nights at Freddy’s has started filming. Fans are more than excited to see this game franchise get the treatment it deserves.

Blum shared this photo on Twitter from the film’s set. The image shows a few monitors showing a few filmed scenes. The photo shows what appears to be the film’s working title: Bad Cupcake. This title could be used as a cover or the production team does not have an official title yet.

The image shows a little Easter egg to Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach. A little toy version of Vanny can be seen between the two of monitors in the middle. Vanny is a killer who dresses up like a rabbit and hunts down Gregory in Security Breach. Vanny is one of the only human villains in the series besides the characters in the game.

Five Nights at Freddy’s is a popular indie horror franchise developed by Scott Cawthon. The series follows a spooky story set in the Freddy Fazbear Pizza restaurant. The original first game was released back in 2014 and from then on there have been numerous sequels and spin-offs. The film will be set to release at Blumhouse with Emma Tammi set to direct. Also, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop provided the animatronics.

Cast has been quite private excluding the leads, Matthew Lillard and Josh Hutcherson. We don’t know who they will be playing but according to fans they have guessed that Lillard might be portraying William Afton- the mysterious serial killer who founded Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Lillard might just be the villain of the picture considering the animatronics don’t speak. Also, Hutcherson has been rumored to play his son- Mike Schmidt. He goes by a different name because he wanted to avoid any questions about his identity being related to William Afton.

The Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise is going to have to please fans and the general audience in order to have great success. The games have a huge fanbase and fans are worried about the film being too shrouded. It could affect the receptivity to the franchise if the general audience doesn’t know what is going on when the true fans know. The movie has a lot of potentials and has to strike a good balance of different things to succeed not only for the fans but just the audience in general.

Coming from a fan of the games, we are excited to see how this will turn out. The fans expect some of the lore and maybe some surprise cameos due to the amount of Youtubers that played FNAF. Scott Cawthon told the fans that the film will not hold back on the violence. “There are some moments in the film where I’m like, are we allowed to show that?” There are moments in all of the games that show different forms of violence and death. If Scott confirms this, will they show the Bite of 83′ scene?
