Former three-time WWF Women’s champion and one-time 24/7 Champion Alundra Blayze wants the 24/7 Championship back.

This past week on Raw Nikki Cross continued her reign of terror she has unleashed on the Raw women’s division by jumping Bianca Belair and aiding in Damage CTRL’s attack on Alexa Bliss and Asuka. Previously she jumped Asuka and Bliss at Crown Jewel and cost them the tag titles. It looks like Cross may be the new member of Damage CTRL, but perhaps just until Survivor Series.

And New 24/7 Champion … Nikki Cross

Later in the night she defeated Dana Brooke for Brooke’s 24/7 Championship. Later on Raw Cross can be seen walking with the championship over her shoulder and a dazed look on her face with Damage CTRL following her. She approaches a trash can to throw away the 24/7 Championship. In a funny botch she misses the trash and it lands on the ground with Bayley and Dakota Kai trying not to laugh.

However, throwing away championships is a WWE Hall of Fame’s bit and she wasn’t too happy about seeing Cross steal her move. Alundra Blayze also known as Madusa in WCW took to Twitter to tell Cross what she thought and why she wants the 24/7 Championship back.

“Excuse me you dropped something… That didn’t go well, you can just hand it over since I am legally still 24/7 champion and I can turn the 24/7 into a woman’s Intercontinental championship. [I don’t know emoji]”

Alundra Blayze won the 24/7 Championship in 2019 and was about to repeat her famous segment when she dropped the WWF Women’s Championship on WCW Nitro in a trash can and kicked off the Monday Night Wars.

Right before Alundra Blayze could throw the championship away The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase bought the championship off of her. Thus she never lost the championship and it still belongs to her.

A Second Women’s Title?

The most interesting part of the Tweet was what Alundra Blayze said her intentions were for the championship. She wants to change the 24/7 Championship into the Women’s Intercontinental Championship.

Alundra Blayze isn’t the only person who wants to transition the 24/7 Championship into the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston brought up the idea of a women’s secondary championship with Brooke during a recent interview. Brooke shared this is something she has been wanting.

“You know what’s crazy? You took the thought out of my head. I’ve been wanting to transition the 24/7 Title into an IC Title,” Brooke said. “I think it would be amazing. We’re building a roster. We have amazing women on the roster. With everyone coming back, why not?

We have the tag team titles, but not everyone is teamed up. You know you have the storylines that are going for the women’s title, but you know then the rest are just like little stories within the mix. So why not go for an IC Title and this way too it’s not secondary, but it’s just another thing to pour your heart and soul in. Have that title and be given that opportunity and you know I just feel like, enhance the woman’s division.”

Most likely Alundra Blayze saw Brooke’s interview and feels like women should have another championship to obtain so she echoed Brooke. Cross throwing away the championship could be the best way to transition it or faze the championship out and introduce a new one. The 24/7 Championship was never one fans cared about and neither did WWE.  It was a forgotten championship.

Having a Women’s IC Championship would make a lot of sense and help women who aren’t quite ready for the Raw or SmackDown Women’s Championship win a championship. Plus Triple H is bringing back more and more women. They will need another championship and it should be cross brand.. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will see a second women’s championship and I hope Brooke gets to be the first champion.

What do you think of a Women’s IC Championship? Should it be called the IC Championship? Who should the first champion be? What do you think about Alundra Blayze? Should the first match for the championship be Cross vs. Brooke? Let us know if you think Cross throwing away the 24/7 Championship means anything at all.
