Mattel and Cryptoys to Launch Masters of the Universe Digital Toy Collection

Just in time for the franchise's 40th anniversary, Mattel and Cryptoys, have announced a digital toy collection for Masters of the Universe. The first Masters of the Universe line of "digital action figures" will launch on Wednesday, November 9.

Just in time for the franchise’s 40th anniversary, Mattel and Cryptoys, have announced a digital toy collection for Masters of the Universe. The first Masters of the Universe line of “digital action figures” will launch on Wednesday, November 9.

The first series of Cryptoys digital collectibles will feature 12 fan-favorite characters. You can check out a preview clip for the Cryptoys Masters of the Universe collection below:

CRYPTOYS BRINGS THE WORLD OF MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE TO LIFE WITH NEW DIGITAL ACTION FIGURE COLLECTIBLES

The first collection of digital collectibles from Cryptoys features He-Man/Prince Adam, Evil-Lyn, BattleCat/Cringer, and Tri-Klops. Mattel and Cryptoys announced the news to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the franchise.

Additionally, Cryptoys plans on expanding its universe of digital Masters of the Universe collectibles with more drops running from November 2022 through January 2023. Additional characters who will be featured include Orko, Teela, Beast-Man, Trap-Jaw, Skeletor, Sorceress, Panthor, and Man-At-Arms.

Cryptoys platform is looking to combine toys, gaming, and entertainment. Each MOTU-themed drop will have more than 10,000 toys per character, with multiple skins over seven rarity levels. The more scarce the rarity, the more powerful and valuable it will become.

Speaking on the news via a press release, Mattel’s Global Head of Digital Gaming Mike DeLaet stated, “With a unique ability to remain at the forefront of pop culture for 40 years, Mattel’s Masters of the Universe IP has an extremely high consumer awareness level and strong collectability value.” He continued, “As the first toy company to launch NFTs and the only toy partner on the Cryptoys platform, we are thrilled to bring this project to life, bridging the gap between traditional toys and the future, providing fans of all ages a new way to experience He-Man and Masters of the Universe.”

Also, OnChain Studios Studios CEO and Co-Founder Will Weinraub added: “Many of us grew up with Masters of the Universe, which is why we felt it was the perfect property to kick off our partnership with Mattel.” He continued, “We’re excited to bring these beloved characters to life as Cryptoys, giving fans a new way to collect and play, ushering in a new era for the world of toys.”

Fans will be able to sign up and build their own Masters of the Universe digital Cryptoys collection at Cryptoys.com. Signing up for the platform is free. Fans can purchase their interactive collectibles with Cryptoys Cubes, priced at $39.99. Fans can choose to keep their cubes in mint condition or unbox them to reveal digital blist-packed-style toys. After they are unboxed, their new digital collectible friends will come alive and can go for a walk.

Fans can purchase the Crytpoys Cubes with credit or debit cards with a five percent transaction fee, but they will also be able to use cryptocurrency since the platform is built on the Flow blockchain. Also, every time a customer max mints five Cryptoys Cubes per transaction, they will gain early access to future drops.
