A new trailer finally reveals the story of Digimon Adventures 02: The Beginning at DigiFes 2022, which features the Digidestined of the 2nd season.
Toei previously released movies related to the original series, but now the 2nd generation will be the stars of this latest movie installment. On top of their return, the movie will also be focused on the first ever Digidestined in the world, who claim to predate Tai and his friends. Images have been shown for the movie that give a better look at what’s to come, but a exclusive clip was also shown at the Digimon event, which has yet to be released online.

Digimon Adventure season 2 continued the adventures of the Digidestined years after they completed their journey in the Digital World. Three new Digidesined joined TK and Kari against a new danger that required an ancient form of Digivolution known as Armour Digivolving. Along with new Digivice, the kids faced many threats and challenges against forces of darkness and managed to unite Digidestined around the world.
Later joined by another, these 6 Digidestined also had the ability to DNA Digivolve to reach Ultimate and Mega evolutions, which is a form of Digivolution previously exclusive for Omnimon before. Here are the names of the next generation of Digidestined along with their Digimon partners.

Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning Story Revealed
The new Digimon Adventure movie was unveiled at DigiFes 2022 with the story continuing after the end of Digimon Adventure Last Evolution Kizuna.
The movie features new character Rui Ōwada, who is saved from falling off Tokyo Tower. Rui reveals himself to be the first Digidestined, who previously had a partner Digimon named Ukkomon. Mystery about the character and his mysterious Digimon will be revealed in the movie, with the 2nd generation older than they were in the previous movie. Here are the images of the features characters in the new movie.
After so many movies covering the original 8 Digidestined, its fantastic that the 2nd generation will have their full time in the spotlight. Digidestined around the world have been met by these 6 Tamers, that continue after the original 6 have left the adventure. It’s also fantastic to see TK and Kari with these 4 as they have a different bond and influence, since they are the same age but have more experience.
It’s also fantastic that Davis and Veemon have opened a noodle shop, which is keeping with the dreams he had as a kid and the future seen in the 2nd series finale. It will be curious to see how the story of Rui and Ukkomon will play out as most new additions turn out to be a form of antagonists, such as Meicoomon and Morphomon.
Hopefully, we will see the return of Armour and DNA Digivolution but one hope is that we may also get to see Ultimate and Mega forms through regular Digivoltions for Veemon, Wormmon, Armadillomon, and Hawkmon. The Digivolution for the new Digimon, Okkomon will also be an interesting addition and we may even see a new evil Digimon as the antagonist of the movie. For now, the preview clip of the movie released during Digi Fes 2022 is only in Japanese without subtitles but a full trailer will soon follow when closer to release.
Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning is set for release in 2023, with a full release date to be announced in the year. The cast for the Japanese release has already been announced to include returning voice actors, which involves the following stars.
