Digimon Survive

Digimon Survive will finally be released after a long wait by fans of the franchise. The latest Digimon game released by Bandai Namco is one of the most highly anticipated video games that will be available on many platforms. With less than a week to go, fans are all counting down for the release of the Digital Monster strategy game, which features a story that is influenced by a player’s choices. With so much information released, let’s look at the Digimon game set for release for the weekend.

Digimon Survive is an upcoming hybrid of a visual novel video game and a survival strategy RPG. The demand generated by the franchise’s fans has proven the popularity of the video games, which led to the western release of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth and Digimon World: Next Order. The popularity also led to the PC platform release for Cyber Sleuth, which previously would only be available on gaming consoles. Digimon Survive was originally set for release in 2019 and was pushed back multiple times due to restructured game development and the Covid pandemic. After so many delays, it will finally be released for fans to enjoy after the agonizing wait.

The new Digimon game is being released as the Digimon Anime celebrates its 25th Anniversary. Digimon Survive features a familiar mystery setting, which many may remember as a vibe like the original Digimon Adventures series. The game will follow the adventure of 8 Tamers and their Digimon in their story of survival in a strange new world. The gameplay will also allow players to make decisions that will affect the outcome of the characters, which may also include life and death situations.

Digimon Survive can Finally Be Experienced

The brand-new adventure will take players through a mysterious and dangerous world, where the characters will need to defend themselves from various Digital Monsters. Interactions are key in the gameplay of Digimon Survive, as they can affect the outcome of both combat and story. The depth of the interactions is the highlighted feature of the game as they can influence a Digimon’s evolution, can grant boosts when partners converse, and could even led to recruiting and befriending opponent Digimon.

Battle will also be a dynamic element of the game as the tactical RPG will include many options to consider. Positioning will be important to gain advantages, along with the use of items and skills, which can determine the outcome of a fight. Digivolutions will also play a vital role in allowing Digimon to get strong boosts and turn the tide of battle, with the possibility of changing paths depending on choices made. Here are all the Tamers and their Partner Digimon that will feature in the epic new Digimon title.

  • Takuma Momozuka & Agumon
  • Kaito Shinonome & Dracmon
  • Miu Shinonome & Syakomon
  • Shuuki Kayama & Lopmon
  • Saki Kimishima & Floramon

Digimon Survive sees a brand-new group of teenagers, led by Takuma Momozuka, get lost on a school camping trip, finding them transported to a strange new world of monsters and danger.

As they fight their way back home through an animated world of difficult decisions and deadly battles, players’ choices throughout the game will impact the evolution of their monster allies and the final ending. Battles in the game are fought in 2D, in a more classic SRPG style.

A recently released trailer shows a better look at the gameplay that fans will be able to experience upon the release of the game. From special attacks to in-game interactions, fans will be flooded with choices when following the deep story found in this unique adventure. Here is the latest trailer released for Digimon Survive that shows more than the game will offer when obtained.

There is so much included in this game that fans will be diving into the adventure for ages. The chance that the Tamers could die and with the endless possible outcomes, the replay value of the Digimon game will be very high. The listed Tamers seem to have a similar ratio to the original eight from the anime series, including the specific type of Digimon partners. The deep interactions between characters of the game will be exciting to see, but influence on the combat will make the experience even more intense. Every element of this game was thought out, and it’s likely that one playthrough will not be enough to truly dive into this new release from the monster franchise.

Digimon Survive will be released next weekend on Friday, the 29th of July. The game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. For more information and to pre-order your copy of the upcoming Digimon game, use the following link.

Long time fan of Tokusatsu fan since Power Rangers was first released in the 90s. Whereas most Superhero fans grew up with DC Comics and Marvel, my childhood was surrounded by releases from Saban Entertainment such as Beetleborgs, along with anime, and other various fads of the generation. Anime is also a great passion with Digimon, That Time I Was Reincarnated As A Slime, and Demon Slayer being significant favorites. It was the love of both Power Rangers and Digimon that led to the path of becoming a Senior Writer for The Illuminerdi.
