MORE WAYS TO HAVE FUN WITH POKEMON TCG
One of the best feelings about collecting Pokémon TCG cards is the uncertainty of what you’re going to get from the booster packs. You never know what is inside. During this event, booster packs will contain extra goodies. Pokémon TCG: Pokémon GO products will also contain promo codes that can be redeemed or various in-game avatar items, such as a hat and T-shirt combo that matches Pikachu’s TCG-themed hat. Promo codes will be valid from July 17, 2022, to July 31, 2024, and can be redeemed at Niantic Labs.
These versions will be called Radiant, and you’ll be able to collect Radiant Venusaur, Radiant Blastoise, and Radiant Charizard. In GO, trainers will be able to catch the shiny versions of those Pokémon.
Available at participating retailers around the world starting on July 1, 2022, the Pokémon TCG: GO expansion features cards with photorealistic artwork and unique gameplay scenarios inspired by the popular mobile game.
A FUN YEAR AHEAD
There are more exciting events coming up soon. If you’re a fan of the anime, the master’s top eight will kick off very shortly. The world series coronation is a tournament in which the greatest trainers battle for the title of Pokémon Master, a title which Ash has been chasing for a very long time. This upcoming tournament will feature Ash, Leon (the undefeated champion of Galar), Cynthia (champion of Sinnoh), Steven Stone (Champion from Hoen), the fan-favorite dragon trainer Lance, Diantha (champion of Kalos elite four), Alain (Kalos league champion), and Iris (Ash’s former companion in the anime, a dragon type gym leader in B&W, and Pokémon Champion in B&W 2).
The tournament kicks off in Japan next Friday with Cynthia matching up versus Iris, Leon taking on Alain, Lance will battle Diantha, and Ash and Steven Stone will have their own match-up. The Journeys anime visited several regions in which Ash has traveled, introduced his new companion Goh, and gave fans a look at several other characters from previous seasons.
This season has also served as fan service, giving Ash several creatures he “should’ve” captured before like Gengar, Dragonite, and Lucario. Another huge event this year is the release of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The game will be released on November 18th for the Nintendo Switch. It will debut a brand-new story, with brand-new creatures, new mechanics, and of course, a brand-new anime arc.
