Gohan Makes Flashy Return In Dragon Ball Super’s Latest Movie

Dragon Ball Super Superhero

Dragon Ball is, without a doubt, one of the greatest anime properties of all time. This anime played a pivotal role in introducing the entire genre to mainstream audiences. One of my favorite villains is a product of the Red Ribbon Army, the upcoming antagonists of the brand-new Dragon Ball Super movie. Dating back to the original Dragon Ball anime, the Red Ribbon army set out to collect all of the dragon balls to use their powers to make a wish. Although the original plan is world domination, commander Red, leader of the Red Ribbon Army, has a different plan in mind. The vertically challenged red-haired leader wants to be… taller.

Our hero Goku managed to put the Red Ribbon Army’s plan six feet under, but that was not the last we’ve seen of them. Dr. Gero, a surviving member of the army, created androids to stand toe-to-toe against Earth’s protectors. Although he didn’t live to see his creations put up one heck of a fight, Dr. Gero created one of the most memorable villains in the history of Dragon Ball – Cell. Gohan defeating Cell is perhaps one of the most epic moments of the entire “Z” series. It marked the introduction of a brand new Super Saiyan transformation and turned Gohan into one of the most beloved characters of the franchise.

DRAGON BALL SUPER: THE RED RIBBON ARMY RETURNS

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero

The Red Ribbon Army is set to make a flashy return in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Following the demise of Dr. Gero, Magenta, the new leader of the Red Ribbon Army, hires Dr. Hedo to continue their android project. The result is the creation of perfectly crafted new villains named Gamma 1 and Gamma 2. The new twin androids have a classic Dragon Ball look to them. The Gamma brothers have a yellow-colored suit with a cape and details in either red or blue, colors used to separate and identify the twins.

The film will have Gohan and Piccolo take the driver’s seat while Goku and Vegeta are away.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is set after the events of Majin Buu but before the last arc of the “Z” series. The film originally set to release back in April of 2022, will be released on June 11th of 2022. Akira Toriyama, the author of the original Dragon Ball, returned to write, produce, and create character designs for the movie. In a recent interview, Toriyama revealed that Gohan “is actually stronger than anyone” and that he wanted to give birth to a new superhero by having him and Piccolo team up to take on the Gamma Androids.

WHO IS GOHAN?

The eldest son of Goku and Chi-Chi, Son Gohan is half Saiyan and half-human. He started out as a rather weak warrior, unable to achieve the Super Saiyan form. Once achieved, he could barely hold the transformation. During the Cell arc, Gohan went through a major transformation due to his training with his father and his master Piccolo. During a gruesome battle with Cell, Gohan was able to transform into the never-before-seen Super Saiyan 2 form. With the newfound speed and strength, along with the help of Goku’s spirit, Gohan decimated Cell in one of the most epic moments of the anime, and perhaps one of the most epic moments of any anime ever.

Dragon Ball Super Superhero

Are you excited about Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero? I can’t wait to see what this new Gohan form can do. Of course, this new transformation will only raise more questions as to how far Son Gohan can go in terms of power. If it’s up to Akira Toriyama, Gohan will achieve the highest accolade of all… the greatest warrior of all time.
