Details on Upcoming Hasbro Selfie Series Discovered

A new selfie series line of toys by Hasbro has been revealed.

The toy company Hasbro is widely known in the world of 6in action figure collecting with their wide range of brands including Star Wars, Marvel, Power Rangers & many more. For years these action figures have been known to include either as a default in the box or as a bonus accessory to swap a head that was molded in the likeness of the character the figure is depicting to even famous directors and producers.

Thanks to the accidental publishing of the development website for their storefront Hasbro Pulse it appears the company will be diving into a brand new action figure approach, making you the character in action figure form.

HASBRO PULSE SELFIE SERIES

Discovered last night by @Martian_Ranger on Twitter was the product page for entires in the Hasbro Pulse Selfie Series. This included a list of 13 figure options all priced at $59.99 from all of the major Hasbro action figure lines. While the choices themselves are all market figures made over the last few years, all showcased custom head sculpts and packaging to promote the idea of having your own head on the figure body.

This new product series page was only up for about an hour before it was pulled down but in this short time the pictures present on it were able to be saved. At this time Hasbro has yet to officially confirm this new product option and there is always the possibility these types of figures will never see the light of day or could be months away from being available for purchase. Due to this it’s unknown how accurate the final price would be nor how the process for making your own custom head sculpt would occur.

ACTION FIGURE OPTIONS

If the Selfie Series is ever made available it appears Hasbro has a lot of options in the works. The choices seen on the site included 2 versions of Snake Eyes from the G.I. Joe Classified Series, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Iron Man, and Black Panther from the Marvel Legends Series, Rebel Princess, Rebel Pilot, Mandalorian Warrior, and Stormtrooper from the Star Wars Black Series, a male Ghostbuster from the Plasma Series, and the Mighty Morphin Red and Pink Rangers from the Power Rangers Lightning Collection.

Some of the figure options included a look at the potential packaging for these figures, each matching a similar style to the action figure line they originally come from as well as a general box for the Selfie Series concept. Keeping in line with recent Hasbro products these are also all Plastic Free as the figure sits inside bound by rope ties and a wide-open window gap for easy access and viewing of the figure.

HOW WOULD THIS WORK?

For this idea Hasbro could take a number of approaches from photo submissions to a general face generator concept to make these a reality. The boxes list them as Hasbro Pulse Exclusives, which makes sense for such an ambitious concept.

It’s possible this could be used in ways such as making custom head sculpts for the Power Rangers Lightning Collection based on the Super Sentai actors for fans out there who want representation of those characters or it could be possible measures will be taken to prevent this level of customization. Regardless of how the final process is done this idea is a fantastic idea from the developers at Hasbro for giving collectors a special one-of-a-kind piece in the action figure line of their choice.
