The tweet went out early this morning and has since garnered 1,800 likes and over 450 retweets. Fans of the series are undoubtedly ecstatic about the news, especially considering Season One isn’t technically over yet. Hopefully, the series gets a bit longer of a season with Season 2, more akin to the episode count of the original series. But with the increased animation quality, it is a big ask as it does take quite a bit of time to turn around an episode of an animated series.

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder Featurette

The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is a lot more direct with social issues than it was in the original series. Much to the benefit of the series. It was always a stand-out for representation and inclusion and moves the need even more in the sequel series. For some reason, it is still considered bold to have people in same-sex relationships, with various skin tones, generally not be predominantly white, but until it’s normal, bold television is always welcome and sought after.

The directness and honesty of these situations and combinations of people in The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder bring attention to the vast number of different people and families, while also normalizing them. People are just people, and we all have thoughts, beliefs, and values, that are generally more the same than they are different. The series truly is “louder and prouder” in many senses of the word. While the show is obviously a hit with how fast production on the next season has started, I personally can’t wait to see the societal impact the series will have on a new generation of young fans.
