Cody Rhodes and Chris Jericho

Many expert commentators on sports entertainment have been clamoring as of the taping of next week’s WWE Monday Night Raw that we may see Cody Rhodes appear and confirm the speculations that he is going back to WWE. During a recent edition of his Hall of Fame podcast, former five-time WCW Champion Booker T discussed the possibility of Cody Rhodes coming back to WWE.

“I said, ‘Cody might be coming back.’ But I said, ‘I don’t think it’s going to be anything that’s going to happen tomorrow. I don’t think it’s going to be anything that’s going to happen on the next pay-per-view or anything like that. I think that’s what I said, but I said I am sure there’s a chance that Cody could be coming in.

And there still might be a chance that Cody is going to be coming in, but I did not think it was going to be like a Brian Kendrick switch. I think that’s exactly what I said. I didn’t think it was going to be anything like that. Now, we have seen that has come to fruition.”

On the Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that a Rhodes v Rollins match was still WWE’s plan as of Friday, meaning the company must believe that Cody will be returning before then.

“On Friday, Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins was still listed as a match for WrestleMania… The fact the match is still listed tells me that they (WWE) believe he’s in. Whether he’s signed or not I cannot say, but obviously they believe he’s in, they believe the match is still on.”

Again, multiple sources have already confirmed that the former Intercontinental Champion Cody Rhodes signed with WWE earlier this month. With many stating that the current plan is for him to show up on Night 2 on April 3rd, also known as WrestleMania Sunday, to collide with Seth Rollins.

Another Cody Rhodes WWE Return Confirmation

After that, he’s expected to be a part of the RAW brand. While nothing has officially been announced by WWE about Cody’s status, AEW Superstar Chris Jericho has also confirmed now that Cody is returning to WWE. On a recent episode of his podcast, Jericho was talking about trademarks in Professional Wrestling  with Trademark attorney Mike Dawkins, said the following:

“I’m pulling back the curtain a little bit on the wrestling business. You’re gonna discover how I’ve been able to be Chris Jericho no matter what company I work for or where I wrestle. You’ll hear how Danhausen gets to keep his name and gimmick from promotion to promotion. How Cody got to reclaim Rhodes from WWE even though he’s back in WWE.”

We don’t know how much stake we can place in this current tidbit within the rumor mill, but Chris Jericho hasn’t had a bad record with the information he shares on his podcast in the past. There really isn’t any room for growth for him to emphatically claim such speculation as fact now.
