No Exit Cast And Crew Discuss Working With Child Actor Mila Harris

Some of the cast and crew of No Exit reveal what it was like to work with child actor, Mila Harris.

No Exit is an upcoming suspense thriller from 20th Century Studios and Hulu. It is based on the 2017 novel of the same name.

Some of the cast and crew were recently involved in a press junket where they were able to discuss the movie in detail and talk about how the film was made.

Cast And Crew Talk About Working With Child Actor, Mila Harris

During the press junket, Charles Villanueva, from Murphy’s Multiverse, asked about what it was like to work with Mila Harris, who is one of the breakout stars of the film.

DAMIEN POWER (Director): “Mila was ferociously talented and just completely t-terrifying and scary. I remember in the audition-watching her audition, you know, have-having to see how scared she could pretend to be and just being completely convinced. So I think that every time that she was onset and required to be tied up, or terrified, we all felt it. I certainly know that I felt it. She was great.”

DANNY RAMIREZ: “She’s one of the best child actresses that I’ve ever worked with. Honestly, knocked it out of the park every single time. There’d be moments that, we check in to see how she’s doing, and she’d just, like, pop into a smile. And we’re like, “Wait, what-what? How are you able to transport yourself?” It was wonderful to see every single time.”

Dennis Haysbert and Havana Rose Liu continue to highlight Harris’s maturity onset and her confidence while performing her role in the film.

DENNIS HAYSBERT: “You would never say that she was a child. She’s, like, 40 years old. You know? She was just amazing. You know, she was an inspiration. She would have this horrifying scene or sequence, and then as soon as it’s over, “Hi.” You know? [LAUGH] And she was just all right. At times I wondered if she was traumatized at all, and she wasn’t. She just wasn’t.”

HAVANA ROSE LIU: “She also has an incredible innate sense of confidence. I remember after the table read, we all were sort of packing up and still discussing, and she was walking out, and she’s like,” Great work today, everyone,” and leaves the room. And you’re like, “This is coming from the tiniest one of all of us, and she’s the least nervous.” So [LAUGH] I also found a lot of inspiration from Mila. I thought of her as very much like my little sibling in [it] all.

I feel very lucky she was on set, ’cause she was very grounding, as well. To have a child in all of this violence, it reminded you that there’s light and beauty and play to be had. And she really brought that energy for all of us.”

Lastly, David Rysdahl praised Harris’s parents for supporting her throughout No Exit.

DAVID RYSDAHL: “She had great parents around her, too, ‘Cause you’re always wondering with a child, “What-what parents are doing this?,” but she really wanted to be there, and her parents were supporting it.”
