The Batman is only weeks away and fans are eager to see the newest incarnation of The Dark Knight. Matt Reeves is bringing fans back to the early years of Batman’s time as a vigilante and leans into the detective aspect of the character with a noir style mystery. That being said based on the trailer The Batman will feature plenty of raw action-packed fights scenes.

The Batman will feature a number of favorites from the Dark Knight’s rogue’s gallery including Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Oswald Cobblepot aka Penguin, Carmine Falcone, and The Riddler. There have also been rumors of Joker potentially making an appearance in the film. It seems Robert Pattinson is already looking to the future.

ROBERT PATTINSON REVEALS THE VILLAINS HE WOULD LOVE TO FIGHT IN A SEQUEL TO THE BATMAN

In an interview with Den Of Geek Robert Pattinson revealed who from Batman’s rogue’s gallery he would like to face off against in a potential sequel.

“I’d love to do something like Court of Owls. There are elements of The Batman which are kind of horror and I think it really feels quite new for Batman.”

The Court of Owls were created by writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo. They first appear in Batman (vol. 2) #3 and prove to be major antagonists for Batman in the first two story arcs of The New 52 DC reboot. The Court of Owls is a cabal made up of Gotham’s elite, the wealthiest and oldest families in the city. The Court of Owls has controlled Gotham from the shadows for centuries and uses undead assassins known as Talons to carry out their interests.

Assuming there is a sequel The Court of Owls could prove to be intriguing villains for Pattinson’s Caped Crusader to fight. It looks like The Batman will explore corruption in Gotham and reveal hidden truths to Bruce Wayne about his own family. This could potentially pave the way for The Court of Owls in the future especially given their own connection to the Wayne family. The Court of Owls also seem like an ideal fit for The Batman’s more gothic, horror, and noir style with an owl themed secret society and undead assassins.

Den Of Geek also revealed that Calendar Man is one of the rogues on Pattinson’s wish list. Calendar Man is known for committing crimes tied to holidays and important dates, he was initially introduced as more of a minor joke villain. However, Batman: The Long Halloween changed the game for Calendar Man reforming him into a deranged date obsessed serial killer. With so many fans suspecting The Batman has taken inspiration from Batman: The Long Halloween this version Calendar Man could prove to be an intriguing killer for the World’s Greatest Detective to go toe to toe with in the future.

Matt Reeves seems to have big plans for this world with two spin-off HBO Max series already announced, Penguin and the Gotham Police series. The Gotham Police spin-off is a prequel taking place during Batman’s first year as a vigilante while The Batman is set during his second. It wouldn’t be a surprise to learn that Reeves has more planned for Gotham’s protector and assuming the film does well at the box office there could be a chance for Robert Pattinson to get his wish. Hopefully Reeves and Pattinson get to continue developing the world of The Batman and dive deeper into the dark elements of Batman and Gotham.
