Bruce Campbell has been teasing a possible role in Sam Raimi’sDoctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness and The Illuminerdi has a theory on who he could be playing.

Marvel’s next two MCU movies are poised to be jam packed with huge action, multiversal insanity, and some truly exciting cameos. Tons have been teased and rumored for Spider-Man: No Way Home. And Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness has had a number of Marvel characters teased including a famous mutant, played by an actor who has become synonymous with the role, that fans have wanted to see in the MCU for years. But there has been another actor hinting at possible involvement in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

Bruce Campbell has been teasing the possibility of making an appearance in the highly anticipated Doctor Strange sequel for months. He tweeted “Boy, it was a blast, working in a certain city, with a certain director on a certain movie with a certain actor – it sure was!” along with a photo of London which many fans took as an indication that he could be a part of Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness.

He’s also given answers in interviews that tease his involvement as well including an interview with Entertainment Weekly in July. We had the chance to catch up with Campbell at the 2021 Saturn Awards where he continued to tease this possibility. When we asked him about cameos he’s looking forward to in Spider-Man: No Way Home he quickly changed the focus to Raimi’s next Marvel outing,

“Well you might want to check out the Doctor Strange movie though. That’s the one that’s worth talking about. If I were able to talk about it.”

It wouldn’t be a shock to see Campbell make some sort of appearance in the multiversal adventure given his close friendship with director Sam Raimi, having made a cameo appearance in each of Raimi’s Spider-Man films. Although his roles in the Spider-Man trilogy were very minor, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness offers the opportunity for Bruce Campbell to play one of the countless Marvel characters that are rumored to appear in Strange’s multiverse adventures.

COULD BRUCE CAMPBELL BE PLAYING THE ASGARDIAN RUMORED TO APPEAR IN DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS?

With so many characters potentially making an appearance in the new film it opens up endless possibilities. One character that is rumored to make his debut in Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness and could be a hilariously fun fit for Campbell is Asgard’s own Balder The Brave. Balder has a complex and storied history in Asgard, but what’s important is Balder is a famed Asgardian warrior as well as Thor’s half brother and as Odin’s son a Prince to the throne of Asgard.

Campbell would be perfect to infuse Balder with the classic Asgardian bravado and revelry. He could also pull off the veteran warrior that Balder could be. Given Balder’s history in the comics this could be a character that is either layered with loss, tragedy, and the burden of responsibility or he could be a bit more light hearted like Thor before he was humbled. How exactly Balder could play into Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is still a mystery, but he seems like an ideal character for Campbell to take on.

Perhaps Balder is part of the rumored multiverse Illuminati that leaked pre viz images seemed to tease. Given how packed the film already is with Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff, America Chavez, and Shuma Gorath, to name a few, if Balder makes an appearance it likely won’t be too prominent a role. This could make it perfect for a potential Bruce Campbell cameo.

Raimi often brings Campbell into his productions and Campbell himself has perpetuated this rumored involvement that he himself seems to have started. Seeing Bruce Campbell take on a meatier character that could be used down the line in other Marvel content or simply be a fun Easter egg for fans would be an absolute blast. Given the trajectory of Thor, Loki and Asgards story in the MCU Balder’s role seems more likely to be a fun Easter egg. Unless Loki branches out into the multiverse in season 2. Hopefully Bruce Campbell’s hints come to fruition with some sort of cameo appearance in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness whoever he ends up playing.
