Smallville star Tom Welling teases that an animated revival may be in the works for the classic CW show.
Smallville Tom Welling

For ten years, Tom Welling lived on the small screen showing fans new sides and emotions of Clark Kent, the man who would become Superman on Smallville. Now, it’s possible that we may one day see a return of the actor and show in an animated format.

In 2011, we said goodbye to Welling and everyone who was involved in the show. However, Smallville has continued to gain more and more popularity as time has passed. Fans got to see Welling appear once more as Clark Kent in the CW’s “Crisis On Infinite Earths” along with Erica Durance as Lois Lane. In the episode we got a glimpse of their future life together on Kent Farm.

Numerous times fans have asked the cast of the show about the potential of a series and often no word was given. Now, thanks to a video made for the website Cameo where stars and celebrities send messages to fans, the Smallville animated series is in the works.

Here is what the Smallville’s Tom Welling had to say:

“Michael Rosenbaum and I are actually working on an animated series to bring those characters back to life, and use as many of the original cast members as possible,. Don’t tell anybody, though. It’s a secret, we’re still working on it.”

In the video, he informs the public that he and Michael Rosenbaum, who also starred on Smallville as former friend turned rival Lex Luthor, are working to get the series going. He mentions also trying to get other cast members on board.
