This just in, Borderlands fans: production is underway for Eli Roth’s video game adaption, and Jamie Lee Curtis just gave us a first look of Lilith!
Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Dr. Tannis, released a new behind the scenes shot on Twitter to the delight of viewers. She uploaded a photo of co-star Cate Blanchett, who is playing Lilith, with the caption “Welcome to BORDERLANDS & a secret BTS shot I took of Lilith, our legendary heroine, psycho blasting, vault hunting vixen with a bad attitude”.

By the looks of the image it happens to be a fully silhouetted shot of Blanchett sporting the character’s signature look such as hairstyle and outfit. Although, it is hard to tell at the moment but it could just be an element of surprise for fans to know more about the upcoming film.

In addition to this teaser, there is also synopsis of the character along with other cast members that are featured in film.
“In the movie Lilith (Cate Blanchett), an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful S.O.B., Atlas (Edgar Ramirez). Lilith forms an alliance with an unexpected team – Roland (Kevin Hart), a former elite mercenary, now desperate for redemption; Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg (Florian Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound, rhetorically challenged protector; Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), the scientist with a tenuous grip on sanity; and Claptrap (Jack Black), a persistently wiseass robot.
These unlikely heroes must battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to find and protect the missing girl, who may hold the key to unimaginable power. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other.” Looks like Lilith will be facing dangerous battles but also team up with other characters for a search mission.

Lilith is a Vault hunter, but also a Siren who’s from the planet Dionysus. Her powers feature superhuman physical characteristics, acid manipulation, teleportation, invisibility, invulnerability, absorption, healing, fire manipulation, electric manipulation, energy projection, and status inducement. She appeared in each of the Borderlands games from the first to third and what we know about her is that she can not only be deadly with a short temper, but also loyal to those to who she calls friends especially to Roland. Lilith has a nerdy side too which she does intend to act cool.
The film is being developed by Lionsgate and director Cabin Fever. Along with Chernobyl screenwriter Craig Mazin who will be writing the script for Borderlands.
