NXT TakeOver: In Your House is rumored to be the theme and title of the next TakeOver event.
According to Fightful Select, WWE is planning on reviving the IN Your House title and theme for a second year. The event is planned for Sunday, June 13, at the Capitol Wrestling center, aka the Performance Center.
It has not been officially announced by WWE, but NXT talent have reportedly been told of the title and the date of the event.
This is the second year WWE has used the theme and name for the TakeOver event. Last year’s event was held on June 7, so it appears this may become an annual event for NXT as this year’s event is around the same time.
Last NXT TakeOver: In Your House saw Velveteen Dream vs Adam Cole [bay bay], Keith Lee vs Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor vs Damian Priest among others. All the match-ups for last year’s event featured the top talent in NXT so this isn’t a throwaway event.
As it hasn’t even been officially announced, we don’t know any of the match-ups for this year’s In Your House.
Revived PPVs Give A Bit Of Nostalgia And Wrestling History
In Your House is just another event WWE has revived from the wrestling grave. WWE has been doing this a lot in the past few years and I am all for it. In recent history we’ve seen Halloween Havoc, The Great American Bash and the WarGames match all be resurrected.
These revivals give long time wrestling fans a bit of nostalgia and hopefully will give young wrestling fans the urge to go back and watch old events. Hopefully this will lead young fans to see why guys like Macho Man Randy Savage, Ric Flair, Dusty Rhodes, Sting, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin among many others are all so highly regarded.
In Your House Is About To Be In Your Peacock App
In Your House was a PPV name WWE used from 1995 to 1999, but was held every few months rather than once a year. What is even more fitting is that it was first introduced as a way for WWE to add additional PPVs. NXT TakeOver has also been a way to add more events between main roster PPVs, just like the original In Your House PPVs were used.
In the coming weeks WWE should be announcing the official name for the upcoming TakeOver and we’ll see if the rumor is true. We should also see the matches start to be announced.
Are you happy to see NXT do another In Your House event? Is there another PPV retired from WWE or WCW you’d like to see make a comeback? Let us know what you think of the rumor down in the comments.
