Together Together is a comedy film written and directed by Nikole Beckwith (Stockholm, Pennsylvania). The film stars Ed Helms (The Hangover trilogy, The OfficeTag), Patti Harrison (A Simple FavourRaya and the Last Dragon), Tig Notaro (Star Trek: DiscoveryOne Mississippi), Julio Torres (The Great North), Rosalind Chao (MulanPlus One), Fred Melamed (WandaVision), and Anna Konkle (Plus One).

The story follows a young loner Anna who is hired as the gestational surrogate for Matt, a single man in his 40s who wants a child. The two strangers come to realize this unexpected relationship will quickly challenge their perceptions of connection, boundaries, and the particulars of love.

The film had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 31, 2021. It was released in a limited release on April 23 and now it will be released on-demand. The charming R-rated comedy holds a 92% RT score based on 116 reviews, with praise for the director and the lead stars, making this a must-watch.

The Woman in the Window is Netflix’s original psychological crime thriller directed by Joe Wright (Pride & PrejudiceDarkest Hour, Atonement). The screenplay was written by Tracy Letts, based on the 2018 best-selling novel of the same name by pseudonymous author A. J. Finn. Amy Adams (ArrivalMan of Steel, Sharp Objects) star as the lead in this adaptation.

The film follows Anna Fox (Adams) who is an agoraphobic child psychologist who finds herself keeping tabs on the picture-perfect family across the street through the windows of her New York City brownstone. Her life is turned upside down when she inadvertently witnesses a brutal crime. Shocking secrets are revealed and nothing and no one is what they seem.

The Woman in the Window produced by 20th Century Studios and was originally scheduled to be released in 2019, but it got delayed multiple times and was finally sold to Netflix. Now the R-rated suspense thriller is scheduled to be digitally released on Netflix. The main reason to watch this film is its star power and it’s an adaptation of a gripping novel.

Spiral: From the Book of Saw (also known simply as Spiral) is Lionsgate’s mystery horror thriller directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw 2,3,4, Tales of Halloween) and written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger. It is the ninth installment in the Saw film series and the fourth film directed by Bousman. Chris Rock and franchise creators James Wan and Leigh Whannell serve as executive producers.

It stars Chris Rock (Fargo), Max Minghella (The Handmaid’s TaleThe Social Network), Marisol Nichols (Riverdale), Edie Inksetter (The Handmaid’s Tale), Zoie Palmer (Lost GirlWynonna Earp), Ali Johnson (Hudson & Rex), and Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful EightCaptain MarvelThe Hitman’s Bodyguard).

Synopsis: Working in the shadow of esteemed police veteran Marcus Banks (Jackson), his estranged son, brash detective Ezekiel “Zeke” Banks (Rock), and his rookie partner, detective William Schenk (Minghella) take charge of a grisly investigation into murders that are eerily reminiscent of the city’s gruesome past. Unwittingly entrapped in a deepening mystery, Zeke finds himself at the center of the killer’s morbid game.

The R-rated film is scheduled to be released in the US in May, after being delayed from its original release date of May 15, 2020, due to the global pandemic. In recent times many classic horror franchises are resurrecting and now the Saw franchise is making its comeback. The previous attempt to bring back Saw through the 2017 Jigsaw film failed, so let us hope Spiral will find the roots of the first Saw. This is a must-watch for horror lovers and especially for Saw fans.

Those Who Wish Me Dead is a Warner Bros. neo-Western survival action thriller directed by Taylor Sheridan (YellowstoneSicario 2Without Remorse) with a screenplay by Michael Koryta, Charles Leavitt, and Sheridan, based on Koryta’s novel of the same name.

The film stars Angelina Jolie (MaleficentWantedSalt), Nicholas Hoult (X-Men franchise, The GreatWarm Bodies), Finn Little (Reckoning), Aidan Gillen (Game of ThronesPeaky Blinders), Medina Senghore (Happy!), Tyler Perry (Gone Girl), Jake Weber (Dawn of the DeadHomeland), and Jon Bernthal (The PunisherFord v FerrariFury).

The film centers around a smokejumper (Jolie) and a 12-year-old boy (Little). The teenager witnesses the murder of his father near a large national forest. Pursued by assassins intent on silencing him, the boy soon meets a veteran fire warden and wilderness survival expert who offers him shelter in her lookout tower. When the assassins set fire to the forest in order to cover their tracks, the pair must both survive a deadly blaze that threatens to consume them and outwit the killers on their trail.

This is one of the WB films of this year that is going to follow the HBO Max release strategy. Those Who Wish Me Dead is scheduled to be released in theaters and also stream simultaneously on the HBO Max service for a period of one month. This R-rated action flick is a must-watch just for the cast alone.

Above Suspicion is Lionsgate’s crime drama thriller directed by Phillip Noyce (SaltDead Calm, and Clear and Present Danger), from a screenplay by Chris Gerolmo, based upon the non-fiction book of the same name revolving around the true-life murder of Susan Smith. Even though this film was completed way back in 2017 and was supposed to be released in 2019. it never received a proper release, until now.

It stars Emilia Clarke (Game of ThronesSoloTerminator GenisysMe Before You), Jack Huston (FargoAmerican Hustle), Sophie Lowe (Blow the Man DownThe Beautiful Lie), Austin Hébert (Detroit), Karl Glusman (Nocturnal Animals), Chris Mulkey (Captain Phillips), Omar Miller (Ballers), Kevin Dunn (WarriorVeep), Thora Birch (American BeautyGhost World), Luke Spencer Roberts (The Package), and Johnny Knoxville (Men in Black IIPolar).

Based on the true story of one of the most notorious crimes in FBI history, this gritty crime-thriller follows Susan Smith (Clarke), a young woman desperate to escape a seedy life of crime and drugs in a Kentucky coal-mining town. When a newly minted FBI agent named Mark Putnam (Huston) recruits Susan as his informant for a high-profile case, she believes her bad luck may finally be changing. But as Susan and Putnam’s relationship deepens, so does the danger, setting them both on a collision course with deadly consequences.

After many delays, it is finally scheduled to be released in the US simultaneously in select theaters and through VOD before the movie makes its way to Blu-ray and DVD on May 18. Up to now, it has only a few reviews on RT with a 40% score based on 10 reviews with criticism for its underwhelming adaptation, but it got praise for its strong performances especially Clarke’s. So this R-rated film is worth watching only if you are a fan of Emilia Clarke or if you’re a fan of films based on true-life material.
