Actress Emily VanCamp addresses the Sharon Carter as Power Broker theories and teases new characters coming in the next three episodes of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier.

Sharon Carter’s MCU return came in an unexpected way in the third episode of The Falcon And This Winter Soldier. This was not the Sharon Carter that fans remember from the Captain America films. Sharon has been hardened and disillusioned following her years on the run and now living in the lawless Madripoor. Emily VanCamp spoke with Variety about who Sharon Carter is now, separate from Captain America and his allies.

“To get to see who she’s become over this long period of time, and independent of Captain America as we know him, is really interesting to me. The intrigue for me was to see who is Sharon now.”

IS SHARON CARTER POWER BROKER ON THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER?

So much of the time Sharon Carter has spent on the run between Captain America: Civil War and her return in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier is still a mystery. Sharon Carter made her debut in the third episode of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, which was titled “Power Broker”. Following the episode many fans have theorized that Sharon Carter is the mysterious Power Broker behind the super solider serum. Emily VanCamp was asked directly in her interview with Variety about these theories although her answer didn’t reveal much.

“Well, that’s a good question. I mean, the Power Broker could be anybody. Also, there are several characters that have yet to be seen. So, I mean, I can’t say anything.”

Although VanCamp teases other new characters to come in the next three episodes of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, she does acknowledge that “anybody” could be the mysterious Power Broker. This mystery will likely continue to vex not only Sam and Bucky in The Falcon And The Winter Soldier, but the audience as well.

Who these new characters could be is another exciting mystery and how they will come into play in these next three episodes of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. This is not the Sharon Carter that fans met in Captain America: The Winter Soldier or Captain America: Civil War. Sharon has lost everything and it was assumed that she was lost during the blip, but that hasn’t been confirmed. If she was, Sharon has managed to build quite a life for herself in Madripoor over the last few months. She claims that she is dealing in illegal art, but it wouldn’t be surprising if Sharon was involved in more than that given her last scene in the episode.

One of the moments that made so many fans suspicious was when Sharon let Sam, Bucky, and Zemo leave. Sharon met with a woman at a car, possibly her driver or at least an associate of some kind, and told her that they had a couple of problems. This was after Dr. Nagel was killed by Zemo and his lab was destroyed.

“She comes from this bloodline of agents and has this tremendous love for her life that she had, and now she’s stuck in this sort of pirate land, and doing things that she’s probably not really wanted to do.”

Even if Sharon isn’t the Power Broker, she could be working for the villainous individual who is involved with the super soldier serum. Hopefully more about Sharon Carter’s motives and what she has had to do while on the run will come to light in the next three episodes of The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. Sam swore to get Sharon pardoned, but if she is Power Broker it will be interesting to see how those two things work either with or against each other.
