It looks like Jackass 4 stars Johnny Knoxville and Steve-O have gotten hurt again. The leads of the franchise have been hospitalized by their injuries and had to halt filming due to a stunt involving a moving treadmill and a tuba.
The news of these two stars getting injured is no surprise to fans of the Jackass franchise, as it has evolved from a TV series full of impossible stunts to a movie franchise with even more dangerous ones.
However, it’s a little surprising that this occurred merely two days into filming. How much is too much when it comes to performing entertaining gags?
A Little Jackass History
In the 20 years since the series started, the crew of the franchise have gotten older as most of the team including Steve-O and Knoxville are now in their 40s. With the amount of stunts these two have done, it is expected that the healing time will be longer now that they have gotten older.
The news was shared by Bam Margera, who posted a video on his website where he was in the hospital waiting room describing how they had gotten hurt. It seems like the stars decided to suit up again after the release of Jackass 3-D, which seemed to be the end of the series.
The fourth installment was set to be released on March 5th of 2021, but Paramount decided to push the movie to July 2nd 2021. The question is how much longer can this go on? Johnny Knoxville has talked about all the issues he has taken from filming and the strain it has placed on his health. Is Knoxville willing to keep having his bones broken and scar tissue into his 50s?
It may be time for the show to move to younger new cast or perhaps this movie will truly be the end of the Jackass franchise. Do you want to see more Jackass movies? Comment below and stay with The Illuminerdi for more film news and features.
