Fans are finally getting there wish for more Boba Fett content and it looks like it will be an exciting ride.
The second season of The Mandalorian brought back the fan favorite notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett, which left long time Star Wars fan ecstatic. Fett not only survived the sarlacc pit, but fans were finally able to see the impressive skills of the bounty hunter in action as he demolished a group of storm troopers. Boba reclaimed his armor which revealed that his father, Jango, and by extension he himself are in fact Mandalorians and then assisted Din in his quest to rescue Grogu.
Boba Fett has returned and fans have been begging for more. Disney has listened and in the post credit scene of the season two finale they answered. Boba and Fennec Shand, the assassin he saved during the first season of The Mandalorian, return to Tatooine and more specifically Jabba the Hutt’s palace.

With Jabba dead a new leader seems to have taken over and it is none other than Bib Fortuna, one of Jabba’s old employees. Fennec and Boba storm the palace killing nearly everyone in sight. Fortuna is shocked that Boba is alive and attempts to welcome him back, but Boba has other plans. After killing Fortuna, Boba takes his place on Jabba’s throne with Fennec beside him. The duo seems primed to take over the criminal underworld on Tatooine and beyond.

Then the title cards appear. “The Book Of Boba Fett” “Coming December 2021”. There have long been rumors of a Boba Fett series, but it was not announced at Disney Investor Day which left many confused. However, with this confirmation that The Book Of Boba Fett will be coming to Disney Plus next December, fans are beyond excited. It seems that Disney didn’t want to spoil the surprise announcement at the end of The Mandalorian season finale. Perhaps what is most exciting is that unlike most of the other Star Wars projects that fans are waiting for The Book Of Boba Fett will be released next year.
Is The Book of Boba Fett The Third Season of The Mandalorian?
Fans will finally get the chance to see more of Boba Fett and he’ll be leading his own series. Based on the post credit scene it looks like the series will focus on Boba and Fennec as they take over the criminal underworld on Tatooine, but other parts of Boba’s story could also be revealed. Hopefully we finally learn how he survived the sarlacc pit. We here at the Illuminerdi revealed casting news for a spin-off of The Mandalorian that started filming in November and it looks like The Book Of Boba Fett is likely that spin-off.
Kathleen Kennedy said at the Disney Investors Day that the next chapter of The Mandalorian will debut on Disney Plus Christmas 2021. It is possible that The Book Of Bobba Fett spin-off series could be the next chapter or The Mandalorian and The Book Of Bobba Fett limited series could both premiere in December 2021. If they do premiere at the same time fans of The Mandalorian could be in for a crossover between the two shows which Kennedy teased for The Mandalorian and the two other spin-off series that are being developed.

The Book Of Boba Fett is primed to be a fantastic Star Wars series that will give the notorious bounty hunter his long awaited spotlight. Lucasfilm announced a huge slate of new Star Wars programming at Disney Investor Day including the upcoming Clone Wars spin-off The Bad Batch, two The Mandalorian spin-offs Ahsoka and Rangers of The New Republic, Andor a Rogue One prequel, Obi-Wan Kenobi, The Acolyte, Lando, and more. Star Wars has a bright and exciting future in store with animated and live-action series and films. The Mandalorian has ushered in a whole new era of Star Wars with a major focus on Disney Plus series.
