Once Upon A Snowman is a whimsical addition to the lore of Frozen, which writer/director Trent Correy has been thinking of since the first Frozen film. Olaf is the first character Correy animated, so it is no wonder he has a soft spot for the snowman. As Correy explains how the idea initially came to him “[Elsa] creates life and she walks away and I was like, there’s got to be a story there…I want to see what Olaf’s first steps are like and we don’t see them for another 20 minutes in the film.”
