Raya and the Last Dragon has been a long time coming. The upcoming animated adventure was originally scheduled for a November 2020 release, however it’s now postponed until next March due to the pandemic. Disney released its first teaser trailer for the movie today and it looks worth the wait!
On Good Morning America, Disney revealed the teaser trailer for their upcoming movie, Raya and the Last Dragon.
The trailer looks epic. It seems like there will be a bigger focus on action, while still having adorable parts like Raya’s little – and then later on seemingly bigger – sidekick: Tuk Tuk. The reactions from fans are overall very positive, highlighting the atmosphere, the music, action and of course Tuk Tuk. Of course we have to mention the stunning animation, seems like Disney have outdone themselves again.
Raya and the Last Dragon will feature the voices of Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) as Raya and Golden Globe Winner Awkwafina (The Farewell) as the last Dragon Sisu.
Raya and the Last Dragon Official Synopsis
Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
Directed by Don Hall (Big Hero 6) and Carlos López Estrada (Blindspotting), Raya and the Last Dragon will be released in theatres March 2021.
