Olaf, the beloved snowman from Frozen, is once again at the center of a new story with the upcoming Disney Plus short Once Upon A Snowman. Olaf has become a beloved part of the fan favorite franchise, with Frozen and Frozen II holding the top two highest grossing animated films of all time. With Frozen grossing over $1.28 billion worldwide and Frozen II grossing over $1.45 billion worldwide. It’s no wonder Disney wants to continue adding to the hugely successful franchise and Once Upon A Snowman looks to be a fun addition.
ONCE UPON A SNOWMAN TRAILER
The upcoming Frozen short tells the story of what Olaf was up to from the moment he was created by Elsa (and is immediately hit by her cape) to when he finds Anna and Kristoff. Once Upon A Snowman features the hilarious Josh Gad returning as his famed Frozen character Olaf. With many familiar faces, including not only Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff, but Oaken the shop keeper as well. O
Olaf appears to of course stumble across some trouble in this new adventure, being chased by what looks to be wolves. This is not the first time Olaf has been at the center of a Frozen short. These also include Olaf’s Frozen Adventure, where the snowman is searching for a Holiday tradition and the At Home With Olaf shorts, that were made remotely back in April of this year.
Once Upon A Snowman is written and directed Trent Correy and Dan Abraham and this is not a new concept. Olaf was the first character that Correy ever animated and this has been an idea he’s had since working on the first Frozen film. Once Upon A Snowman looks to be a fun filled short that will show what Olaf was up to before he joined his family.
Sure to get into all sorts of ridiculous trouble Olaf always manages to find a way to make audiences to laugh. While Olaf is searching for his identity in the short based on what happens during Frozen, he clearly manages to find it as he introduces himself to Anna and Kristoff with the famed line, “I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs.”
