Fans of the 1996 cult film classic, The Craft, will have reason to celebrate this Halloween season with the sequel The Craft: Legacy set to be released on demand October 28 at Midnight. The Craft: Legacy can be rented for a 48-hour period at $19.99 or digital purchase in the United States for $24.99.
The Craft came out in 1996 and starred Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True. The film followed four teenage girls, Nancy (Balk), Bonnie (Campbell), and Rochelle (True) who befriend new student Sarah (Tunney). The three girls are outcasts and have a reputation of being witches. When they see Sarah’s powers they approach her to join their coven as “the fourth”. The four girls use their magical powers for their own gain and things begin to spiral out of control.
Blumhouse Productions and Columbia Pictures have released the first trailer for The Craft: Legacy.
Based on the trailer The Craft: Legacy could be taking a different turn with the new girl being the one that the coven has to try to stop instead of her trying to stop the other three members. The trailer also features a direct tie into the first film with a photo of Fairuza Balk’s iconic villain, Nancy, shown in a photo. Hopefully the film is full of other fun references to The Craft.
