Kamala Khan may be paying Carol a visit in Captain Marvel 2.
While Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to delay its ultimate release, fans are on the edge of their seats waiting for dozens of new characters to finally make their on screen debuts. Not only are there confirmed film sequels and Disney+ series for a number of returning MCU heroes, there are even more that will introduce some of the most intriguing characters from the comics for the first time.
One of the most interesting aspects of this new phase of the MCU is seeing how interconnected all of the new properties are between the big and small screens. Rumors have circled the internet for months on examples of how this will occur, and a new one from today has added even more intrigue into the mix.
Captain Marvel 2‘s Story May Be Coming Together
A new rumor from MCU Direct has revealed that the Captain Marvel sequel in 2022 will feature one of the newest character premiering on Disney+, Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel. Her appearance will be a supporting role to Carol Danvers, and the film is also reportedly set to bring in a number of other heroes, making the sequel somewhat of a “mini-Avengers film.”
On top of this, Captain Marvel 2 is going to be adapting the Secret Invasion storyline, which previous rumors have also mentioned too.
This is yet another exciting potential story that the MCU will dive into for its most expansive phase of projects yet. Potentially seeing Captain Marvel and Ms Marvel fighting side by side along with other unknown Avengers should be a massively exciting experience for fans everywhere, similar to the way the hype built up for Captain America: Civil War in 2016.
It will be interesting as well to find out if the inter connectivity goes both ways, since it is still unknown if Brie Larson will make an appearance in Ms. Marvel on Disney+.
Either way, this is going to make the wait for Phase 4 feel even that much longer as we wait for things to get back to normal. Ms. Marvel is set for release on Disney+ sometime in 2022, while Captain Marvel 2 is preparing for international release on July 8, 2022. What are your thoughts on the potential crossover?
