The Power Rangers news for today isn’t over just yet, as we have recently conducted an interview with Claire Blackwelder, during which she said she would love to return for the upcoming Power Rangers Live Show that we reported on back in March!
When The Illuminerdi’s own Jezzer asked Blackwelder her thoughts on the Live Show, she initially was unaware that it was even in development and therefore seemed pretty surprised by the revelation.
When we asked specifically if she would come back for a Power Rangers Live Show, Blackwelder said the following:
“That’s wild… Yeah that’d be fun.”
Claire Blackwelder Still Fits The Role
In the casting description for the live show, it says that they are looking for someone between the ages of 18-28 to play the role of Kendall. Claire Blackwelder is currently 26, so she still fits the age demographic Hasbro seems to be looking for.
Power Rangers Dino Charge also wasn’t that long ago, all things considered. It’s only been five years since the season premiered. Blackwelder basically looks exactly the same as she did back when the show was being filmed, unlike some of the other characters that they are trying to cast – such as Jason.
Having Claire Blackwelder come back to reprise her role would be a great incentive for audiences to go see the show (besides it just being a literal live show for Power Rangers). Having people reprise their roles could get fans more excited for the show, knowing that some of their favorite rangers will be there in person playing their parts.
Hasbro could definitely go down this route and just the original actors. However, that would raise the question of why would they release casting information for those characters in the first place.
