Finally the trailer for the new Looney Tunes show coming to HBO Max Looney Tunes Cartoons is here!

The trailer is a return to form for the Looney Tunes franchise and I gotta say…I’m loving it! The trailer shows off the show’s trademark slapstick humor which has been a staple of the franchise, since the shorts all the way back in 1930.

Featured in the trailer are all of your favorite Looney Tunes characters from back in the day for new and old fans to enjoy such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Road Runner, and much more!

The series will also reportedly bring in more obscure members of the Looney Tunes bunch such as Pete Puma, Beaky Buzzard, Hubie and Bertie, Petunia Pig, and Cicero Pig.

The History of Modern Looney Tunes Cartoons

the looney tunes show

While fans can be excited for Looney Tunes Cartoons on HBO Max to bring back the nostalgia of the classic cartoons, Warner Bros. Animation has always experimented with different approaches to make the Looney Tunes feel contemporary. Look no further than their attempts in the past with Duck Dodgers, Loonatics Unleashed, and The Looney Tunes Show.

Duck Dodgers and Loonatics Unleashed released in early 2000’s and were more futuristic and sometimes serious takes on the Looney Tunes characters. Duck Dodgers was fairly successful lasting three seasons, while Loonatics Unleashed wasn’t as fortunate, as it received heavy criticism from fans and was canceled after just two seasons.

The Looney Tunes Show is for sure another one of the more interesting takes on the Looney Tunes characters as it showed the characters in more of a sitcom setting living their everyday lives. I really enjoyed watching this one as a kid, but understand why people would want a more traditional Looney Tunes experience.

Looney Tunes Cartoons will be releasing on HBO Max when the service launches on May 27th. Are you guys excited for Looney Tunes Cartoons on HBO Max? Let us know in the comments below and be sure to come back to The Illuminerdi for more updates regarding HBO Max content!
