Natasha Lyonne Doctor Strange 2?

Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has certainly had a trying time in 2020. The film’s original director Scott Derrickson parted ways with the studio due to creative differences on the upcoming sequel, and the film’s production could possibly end up being delayed due to the continuing problems with the coronavirus pandemic.

Thankfully, things are finally starting to get back on track. It is all but confirmed that Sam Raimi will be taking over as the film’s director. Meanwhile, thanks to Disney’s massive reshuffling of their release schedule, the Sorcerer Supreme’s second solo venture will come to theaters on November 5th, 2021.

Through all of this madness, Derrickson will still be involved with the film as an executive producer. Moreover, news has just broken on one of his potential ideas for casting in the movie. Just the other day, he tweeted this:

Natasha Lyonne Has Been Casting a Spell…

Derrickson had a meeting just about a year ago with actress Natasha Lyonne, potentially about casting her in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. It could’ve been for Clea, Doctor Strange’s girlfriend/disciple from the comics, and there are other theories floating around that she may have ended up as a female Nightmare.

With the director change, there is no way to tell how many of Derrickson’s original plans will end up in the final cut of the movie, but it’s a good sign that he will have some influence as a producer. The film is still in very good hands considering Sam Raimi’s background with both horror and the superhero movie genres. Furthermore, it would be foolish of him not to lean on Derrickson’s expertise as well to make the best movie possible.

The news of the meeting with Natasha Lyonne is definitely intriguing and it will be exciting to see whether or not she ends up being a part of the film. Along with the “coincidence” of this tweet coming on her birthday, she is a very accomplished actress that would improve the quality of any Marvel film, including this one.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is expected to hit theaters on November 5th, 2021. Do you think that Natasha Lyonne is really jumping on board the Marvel train? Is she a good fit for Clea? Let us know in the comment boards and on our social media!
