Anime rom-com series NISEKOI has amassed a huge fan base since 2014, so plenty of viewers will be thrilled about the latest development. It’s just been announced that the series will be released on Blu-Ray April 28th, 2020.

NISEKOI, which follows high school students Raku Ichijo, heir to a yakuza family, and Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of the rival gang leader, as they embark on a fake relationship in order to bring peace between two warring families, was first introduced to audiences in the manga, SHUEISHA’s Weekly Shonen JUMP magazine by author Naoshi Komi.

Aniplex of America is thrilled to announce the long-awaited release of the beloved rom-com series, NISEKOIas a complete Blu-ray set on April 28, 2020. The complete Blu-ray set features all twenty episodes of season 1 and all twelve episodes of season 2, plus four unaired OVA episodes only available in the U.S. on this release. Along with an original package cover art illustrated by series Character Designer and Chief Animation Director Nobuhiro Sugiyama (Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side StoryMarch comes in like a lion), the Blu-ray set also includes all textless openings and endings as well as a special booklet featuring a compilation of visuals from various publications and events, which is exclusive to the complete set.

The popular anime series has amassed a dedicated fan base since its 2014 premiere thanks to Chief Director and Executive Director Akiyuki Shimbou (March comes in like a lion, Kizumonogatari films) and animation production by the critically acclaimed studio SHAFT (Puella Magi Madoka Magica series, MONOGATARI series). NISEKOI is based on the manga serialized in SHUEISHA’s Weekly Shonen JUMP magazine by author Naoshi Komi which follows high school students Raku Ichijo, heir to a yakuza family, and Chitoge Kirisaki, the daughter of the rival gang leader, as they embark on a fake relationship in order to bring peace between two warring families.

The anime series stars Koki Uchiyama (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Yuri!!! on Ice) and Nao Toyama (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Goblin Slayer) as Raku and Chitoge, along with Kana Hanazawa (Cells at Work!, Blue Exorcist), Mikako Komatsu (ALDNOAH.ZERO, Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs), Kana Asumi (Gurren Lagann, Angel Beats!), Yumi Uchiyama (The irregular at magic high school, Fate/Grand Order Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia), and Ayane Sakura (My Hero Academia, Promare).
