Thanks to on-set photos, we get our first look at The Eternals Kingo and Sprite.
Marvel The Eternals Characters

Back at San Diego Comic Con 2019, Disney and Marvel Studios came out on stage to reveal their cinematic slate, featuring the films that will be a part of the fourth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. One of the brand new films that was revealed was The Eternals. At the event, Marvel introduced the star studded cast and film that has the promise of being one of the most unique projects that the MCU has ever undertaken.

The Eternals has been a difficult concept for some people to grasp as these characters are incredibly “out there” and are very much a part of the cosmic side of the Marvel Comics’ universe. With many of the upcoming Phase 4 movies, we can get a basic idea as to what that movie could end up looking like, however The Eternals is a whole different beast entirely. However we have now gotten our first look at set photos which provides fans with another proper look at the upcoming Marvel movie.

The Eternals

These photos below come directly from the set of The Eternals in London and give us our first look at Kumail Nanjiani (Stuber) and Lia McHugh (Hot Summer Nights) as Kingo and Sprite respectively. Gemma Chan’s Cersei is also pictured.

What’s most interesting about these set photos is that they seem to take place in the modern day, based on the modern clothing and McHugh’s Sprite appears to be holding a smart phone. We’ve already been made aware that The Eternals will be spanning hundreds of years and will be taking place in many different time periods. However it’s safe to assume that the large majority of the film will be positioned in the present, in a post Avengers: Endgame world.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve gotten an early look at the on-location shooting of The Eternals. We previously reported on Gemma Chan (Captain Marvel) and Kit Harrington (Game of Thrones), who is playing Cersei and Dane Whitman respectively, characters. Well, the dynamic duo was once again spotted on set of the upcoming superhero blockbuster. Take a look below:

It can be inferred that there will be some focus put onto the relationship between Chan and Harrington’s characters. This tells us that character relationships will be a big theme in this movie with not only this, but also with this being an ensemble piece means we will be exploring the relationship between the team members.

The ETERNALS’ SYNOPSIS

Marvel Studios’ The Eternals features an exciting new team of Super Heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, ancient aliens who have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces them out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s most ancient enemy, The Deviants.

The outstanding ensemble cast include Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Kumail Nanjiani as the cosmic-powered Kingo, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Salma Hayak as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-coul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, Barry Keoghan as the aloof longer Druig, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena. Kit Harrington was cast as Dane Whitman.

Directed by Chloe Zhao, who helmed the critically acclaimed Sundance film The Rider, and produced by Kevin Feige, The Eternals opens in U.S. theaters on November 6, 2020.
