New Hawkeye Disney+ Series Has Reportedly Been postponed Indefinitely

A recent report indicates that Marvel’s Hawkeye series has been put on ice, without a start date in sight.

Last year at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios made the surprising announcement that they were developing a Hawkeye TV series for the Disney+ streaming service. The series looked to follow Jeremy Renner’s character as he trains the next master archer, Kate Bishop. Well, today we got another shocking update about where the series stands at Marvel.

According to a report from Murphy’s Multiverse, it has been reported that the Hawkeye production has been delayed indefinitely. It’s important to stress that the show being postponed does not mean it has been canceled. However, if the report is accurate, it does seem like it won’t be filmed in this calendar year.

Now, with Hawkeye being delayed, the focus should intensify for the other Marvel Disney+ series in development. Ms. Marvel is now set to start production in April. Meanwhile, Moon Knight and She-Hulk are starting the casting process for their respective series. All of the aforementioned shows now look certain to shoot ahead of Hawkeye.

The other important thing about Hawkeye being delayed is that Marvel still doesn’t have their Kate Bishop yet. Hailee Steinfeld has been heavily rumored for the role of the next Hawkeye, with Renner’s Clint Barton serving as protege. The series production delay could be simply due to scheduling issues. However, Steinfeld’s Apple TV+ series Dickenson, was recently renewed for a second season. So, it’s possible that Marvel is simply delaying the series, so she can fulfill her obligations before moving on to Hawkeye.

This is only the beginning of the story, as details behind the delay will surely come to light in the near future. It will be interesting to find out if Hawkeye will actually make it to the Disney+ streaming service, or if this will be another project that could have been. We will keep our eye on the target and bring you the latest on Hawkeye and all other shows coming to Disney+.
